Purple Curtain

more about me

I grew up in Ankara, Turkey, spending much of my childhood outdoors. Early experiences in nature shaped a lasting sensitivity to atmosphere, rhythm and the feeling of belonging within a place.

I initially studied International Relations at Bilkent University, then shifted to Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, graduating in 2007. I moved to Istanbul, where I spent over a decade working across restaurants, hotels, retail, clinics and nightlife venues, eventually becoming a partner in a leading design studio. These years built a strong foundation in spatial thinking, production and real-world execution.

Alongside professional practice, I maintained a long-term inquiry into perception, embodiment and inner experience. This included yoga training, meditation and somatic disciplines, not as parallel interests but as ways of understanding how environments affect the human nervous system.

In 2019, I relocated to Mexico, where I designed hotels, restaurants, and installations while continuing to develop my artistic practice. I later traveled to Asia for intensive meditation and inner alchemy retreats. These experiences reinforced a core conviction; space directly conditions how the body regulates, senses and remains present.

Today, I work through Architectural Alchemy; consulting and designing architectural and spatial
projects that aim to function as lived environments rather than visual concepts. In parallel, I create
art installations as a way to investigate sensation, presence and bodily response beyond
conventional architectural frameworks.
